Rapidly Configured & Deployed Portal Solution
The Backroads Portal System began as a way to structure tools and user access for the Ready or Not Writing system. Due to the nature of the project and the sensitivity of the student information that it would house, it was designed to be extremely secure while also flexible enough for ease of use and maintainability.
With the CTE Pathways project, the Backroads system was restructured, a response to the year of on-going development and experience we gained with the Ready or Not Writing project. Later in the 2008, when the Ready or Not Writing site expanded to become the Minnesota Center for College Readiness, modules were added to allow for single sign-on shared between multiple systems, including integration with Moodle.
