some of the parts we can remember
- Spring 2005 : after five years of rapid development mixed with never-ending bureaucracy, Joe Hobson finally takes the plunge and starts his own business, Navigation North.
- 05/05/05 : official launch of Navigation North Learning Solutions LLC as a real business.
- Spring 2006 : we hire our first programmer, an intern from CSU Chico. Although the feds hired him away from us within a few months, we both learned a lot.
- April 2007 : in collaboration with LearningChange, our friends and office neighbor, launched the Ready or Not Writing site for the Minnesota State College & University system.
- 07/07/07 : created the Number N as a spin-off so we could have a separate space to have fun.
- October 2007 : Moved into a larger office space on Broadway in downtown Chico
- February 2008 : Venture Communities / Business Ascent launches, seeking to help connect entrepreneurs with regional investors. Despite some challenges, looks like this portlet thing might just work out.
- June 2008 : Cognoti was finally born, based in a large part on ideas we came up with during development of Venture Communities / Business Ascent.
- July 2008 : we were honored to be able to help out Chris Friedland with his new Credentify® credential verification system
- March 2009 : Brokers of Expertise pilot phase begins
- May 2009 : we begin to rebuild CTE Pathways on Cognoti, preparing it for a statewide audience.
- September 2009 : working with LearningChange, we developed a Single Sign-On (SSO) module for Backroads that allows us to integrate in Moodle subsystems on the Center for College Readiness
- January 2010 : working with Chico Web Design we did a major overhaul on the Brokers of Expertise user interface, based on pilot teacher feedback.
- February 2010 : newly rebuilt CTE Online system goes live to a statewide audience, starting with multiple institutes of teachers at various locations collaborating on the development of model curriculum
- May 2010 : GCN launches GROWCalifornia initiative, focusing their efforts on emerging and successful growth companies.
